I only called an hour in advance for a room. When I got there the owner offered me popcorn and food and movies! She catered to my every need and was very pleasant!
Clean rooms and friendly staff even though we came through at 3am. Beds were very comfortable. Atmosphere was very quaint. If I were to come though this small town again this hotel would be my choice.
Black bear is a super chill, relaxed, and cute place. I love the attitude and feel of this inn. The room isn't the fanciest but it is definitely adorable.

No ac, no TV channels, the pictures posted are not of this motel. The room we stayed in had a 19" tube tv. Not to mention the owner will charge you $327.00 for smoking in a room you didn't smoke in with your children accompanying. The free movie rentals are DVD or vhs! Don't stay here rooms are way over priced for what you get. I would give the place no stars if it would let me.
I usually do not like posting reviews below 3 stars but we had a bad experience. We booked a month in advance for our room. What they did was cancel our reservation and gave our room away so we had no lodging. The saddest part is that they called our home phone literally a few days before the reservation was to be made. We weren't home because were at another hotel in Yellowstone at the time (we were intending to make this a stop in our series of stops for vacation). I really don't like to put up bad reviews but I feel like I should share my story so that management could help/ be aware. We had to wander around looking for a hotel to stay in because of this :'( Thankfully we found last minute lodging but it was disappointing because we really really wanted to lodge here because we thought it was cute
