I have been using Wind River Meats to cut up my elk and deer for years and they do a great job and their prices are reasonable.
Horrible service! Grumpy, unhelpful and total ass's to deal with! Oh by the way they are crooked too, tried to over charge me!
We brought our elk there and asked if they could quarter it for us for our drive home. They said "yea when you don't see it hanging outside and more that means it should be done shortly"...this was at 10:25a.m. We left our elk hanging outside (already skinned) and waited....and waited...finally at 3p.m. it was still hanging out in the sun. So we stopped and asked how it was coming along. They got very rude and started belittle us, saying they have been waiting for us. All they did was cut the elk carcass in half. And continued to say they don't have time for this, they have to get back to work. So more then half our meat went back from sitting in the sun for hours. They talked to us like we've never hunted before or cleaned/processed an animal before when we do it multiple times a year every year. We just didn't have the tools to do it.
I will never go back here again. It's a waste of time, money, and meat.
I agree that they were very rude--clearly being the only game in town has given them the "right' to treated clients like crap even though recommended by the outfitter.. They also added a variety of charges to my CC that were not originally quoted. The boxes they shipped my meat in were not anything more than cardboard and I was charged $$$ for them. Over $1000 to butcher and ship a Elk to MI. I love hunting the area but next trip I will cut up my own Elk.
